24 hours before our gig at Duc de Lombards in Paris and there has been a flurry of press activity. Including a spread in the very cool ‘Les Inrockuptibles’. (see latest pics) I’m told this is a real coup as we would have been up against Madonnaesque names for this spot! Radio play has been good too, with Radio Silence making record of the week on several stations. So if you’re in France and you’ve heard that the bird is the word, follow it up with a trip to Duc de Lombards on Thursday 24th June. We’re doing two shows, both of which are close to selling out so hurry!

As well as playing Glasgow International Jazz Festival this coming weekend, I’m also featuring as a judge for the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year. I shall be feeling every note for the poor little mites. Here I am, calmly writing this blog and all over Scotland there are kids who can’t get a wink of sleep in anticipation; visualising the moment when they enter stage left and can’t remember how on earth to play the thing in their hand.
